Abstract     The expected success of radiofrequency ablation in the local hospital is for the reforming physician more important than the results, published in the outstanding medical journals by the best hospitals of the world. In Slovenia, there are two performing radiofrequency ablation, Ljubljana and Maribor. In these centres, 263 ablations were performed in the years 1998, 1999, and the first half of the year 2000. The long term success of all ablations was 83%, a result, which is comparable with other centres in the world. Many factors play a role in the success rate of a particular ablation centre, therefore, the results are difficult to compare.
