Abstract     The classification of extrahepatic and intrahepatic liver arteries is clinically important for diagnosis and therapy. We analysed 80 corrosive liver casts, we studied the right hepatic artery on all casts, the left hepatic artery on 70 casts and the middle hepatic artery on 74 casts. Our method offered a threedimensional view of extrahepatic and intrahepatic liver arteries and their relationship with other structures (hepatic veins, bile ducts, branches of the portal vein). There are few similar studies and none of them describe the anatomy on subsegmental level. We analysed each corrosive cast according to the protocol. We analysed the origin and position of the hepatic arteries in the hilus, as well as the right, left and middle hepatic arteries with their sectorial, segmental and subsegmental branches. The right hepatic artery (a. hepatica dextra), which totally supported the right liver, originated in the hepatic artery (a. heoatica propria) in the liver hilus in 91,3% (73 cases). At first it lies left to common bile duct (ductus hepaticus comminis) and then turns to lie below it in 85% (62 cases) and above it in 15% (11 cases). In 5% (4 cases) we found a complete replacement of the right hepatic artery, which support all the right hemiliver. In 3,8% (3 cases) two arteries supported the right hemiliver: the uncomplete replaced right artery and the uncomplete right artery which originated form the hepatic artery (a. hepatica propria). We classified the division of the right hepatic artery into groups: a) ASA + PSA; 37,5% (30 cases), b) NASA+ (PSA + NASA); 18,8% (15 cases), c) NPSA + (NPSA + ASA); 11,3% (9 cases), d) NASA + (NASA + (PSA + NASA)); 7,5% (6 cases), e) other; 25% (20 cases). Legend: ASA-the anterior sectorial artery, PSA-the posterior sectorial artery, NPSA-not complete PSA, NASA-not complete ASA artery. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters).
