Abstract		World Health Organization member states regularly report epidemiological data on important communicable diseases. The highest incidence and case fatality rate of majority of these diseases is in developing countries with high population density. Numerous travellers are at moderate or high risk when traveling to endemic/epidemic regions of yellow fever, malaria, denga, filariasis, leishmaniasis, tripanosomiasis, poliomyelitis, cholera, haemorrhagic fever, plague, shizostomiasis, rabies and epidemic meningitis.
Summary		Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija redno zbira in razčlenjuje podatke o gibanju nekaterih nalezljivih boleznih. Mnoge med njimi se večinoma pojavljajo le v t. i. nerazvitih državah, kjer živi večina svetovnega prebivalstva. Bolezni, kot so rumena mrzlica, malarija, denga, filarioza, leišmanioza, tripanosomioza, poliomielitis, kolera, hemoragične mrzlice, kuga, shizostomioza, steklina in meningokokni meningitis predstavljajo zmerno do veliko tveganje za številne potnike, ki odhajajo na območja, kjer so omenjene bolezni endemične ali celo epidemične.
