Several drugs are available nowedays, levodopa remains the most effective symptomatic treatment. Therapeutic strategy should be tailored to the individual patient. In younger patients the disease may affect their ability to work. Specific demands of patient's job should be evaluated in these cases. In advanced disease the increasing disability and dependence is the main problem. Awareness of the specific needs of severe disabled patients is a prerequisite for better care in the future. | |
