| Abstract | The author reports on the first experience with cochlear implantation in Slovenia. The first two cochlear implantations were performed on the 6th and 7th of March, 1996, at the Clinical Hospital Center, Ljubljana. The CI patients were selected from a total of 26 patients, who met all criteria of modern audiology for cochlear implantation to be performed. The author describes all procedures of cochlear implantation. Postoperative follow-up results and hearing rehabilitation are also presented. Some issues related to the future of cochlear implantation in Slovenia are also discussed. | |
