Abstract     The study reported here deals with fabrication and clinical test of Srakar's screws for mild Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE) which is an important orthopaedical problem in early adolescence. Srakar's screws were fabricated from low carbon, austenitic grade stainless steel type 316L(AISI) with 1600 ppm of nitrogen (316LN2). The screws were clinically tested throug the case study where a 14-year-old boy with normal clinical age-suitable growth status was operated with the fixation in situ with Srakar's screws. Results of hystological observations of bone tissue samples seizured after 3-years of implantation, when the screws were removed, show that there was no damage caused by metallosis. It also means that there was no metallic ions produced by corrosion. Results from orthopaedic side of vew show that the screws are suitable since they allow undisturbed further growth and stability of the growing femoral neck. Results also show that 3-years after the operation, when the growth was finished, the boy had no restriction of the movement in both hips. There were no abbreviation of either leg.
Summary     Članek opisuje izbiro materiala, izdelavo in klinično testiranje Srakarjevih vijakov za kirurško vstavitev pri blagem zdrsu glavice stegnenice, ki je velik ortopedski problem v zgodnji dobi adolescence. Vijake smo izdelali iz avstenitnega nerjavnega jekla 316L(AISI) z nizko vsebnostjo ogljika in 1600 ppm dušika. Vijaki so bili testirani na primeru 14 letnega fanta normalne rasti, kateremu sta bili glavici stegnenice fiksirani s Srakarjevimi vijaki. Rezultati histoloških opazovanj kostnega tkiva odvzetega ob odstranitvi vijakov po 3 letih niso pokazali nobenih poškodb, ki bi bili posledica metaloze. To pomeni, da je bila stopnja korozije zelo majhna in da ni prišlo do opaznega vnosa kovinskih ionov v kostno tkivo. Rezultati z ortopedskega stališča so pokazali, da je vijak zelo primeren, saj ni oviral rasti in stabilnosti vrata stegnenice. Rezultati 3 leta po posegu, ko je bila rast zaključena kažejo, da fant ni bil kakorkoli oviran pri gibanju kolkov. Ravnotako ni bilo abreviacije nog.
