Abstract     A research about the characteristics of perceiving the self and significant others in case of psychiatric patients is represented in this article. We are interested in the possibilities of applying this data as a criterion for identity diffusion and determining level of personality organisation - according to Kernberg's psychostructural theory of personality. For this purpose we used self descriptions and descriptions of significant others with Blatt's criteria for the estimation of mental representations. We also used some other criteria. The results mostly support the theory of organisation of identity (level of experience the self and others) as an important characteristic, with which normal and abnormal personalities are distinguished from each other.
Summary     V prispevku predstavljamo del raziskave o značilnostih doživljanja samega sebe in pomembnih drugih oseb psihiatričnih bolnikov.
