Abstract     The following article presents a strong influence that the psychological process of menstruation can exert over intrapsychic, interpersonal and social aspects of our life. The author explores emotions, explanations and behavioural patterns that have been accompanying the process of menstruation since the past times until today, along with the causes of their formation and existence. Introduction contains the presentation of the attitudes towards menstruation among modern women and primitive societies followed by a chronological review of chosen philosophical, psychological and other scientific approaches to menstruation (from ancient philosophers to psychoanalytic concepts).
Summary     V članku želi avtorica prikazati, kako močan vpliv ima fiziološki proces menstruacije na intrapsihične, medosebne ter socialne vidike našega življenja.
