Abstract     A dietary regime providing a high fraction of energy from alcohol and fat, increases the risk for positive energy balance under free-living conditions. The population with high incidences of colon cancer is characterized by high consumption of dietary fat, which may be a risk factor in the absence of factors that are protective, such as wholegrain cereals and other high fiber. The studies does not support the hypothesis that alcohol plays an important role in the aetiology of cancer of the colon and rectum in population with a relatively low alcohol intake.
Summary     Režim prehrane, ki vsebuje veliko energije iz alkohola in maščob, poveča tveganje za pozitivno energijsko bilanco pri nekontrolirani prehrani. Značilno za prebivalce z visoko incidenco raka na debelem črevesju je uživanje velike količine maščob, ki so lahko dejavnik tveganja v primeru premajhne količine zaužitih zaščitnih snovi v prehrani, npr. polnovrednih žit ali dietnih vlaknin. Raziskave pa ne potrjujejo hipoteze, da je alkohol pomembni dejavnik tveganja pri nastanku raka na debelem črevesju pri populacijah ljudi, ki zmerno uživajo alkohol.
