Abstract     Changes in microcirculaton occur early in development of hypertension. It is not clear whether they are the prirnary-event or they probably follow blood pressure elevation cased by changes in autonomic nervous system activity. We studied activity of autonomic nervous system and local microvascular reactivity in normotensive subjects with a familial predisposition to hypertension. As compared to normotensive subjects without predisposition to hypertension, normotensives with a familial predisposition to hypertension exhibit altered activity of autonomic nervous system on heart and vessels, as well as different skin microvascular reactivity, probably as a consequence of impaired sympathetic regulation.
