Abstract		The Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia co!lects data on the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia who are registered as permanent residents in the territory of Slovenia. lt acquires information on all events and changes that may influence the figures of this population group (i.e. births, deaths, arrivals and departures, changes of permanent residence, acquisition and loss of citizenship, correciions in registers of the permanent population in Slovenia, etc.) Vital stafisfics (births, deaths) determined on the basis of fhe registrafions provided by the registry offices are made available daily on statistical forms from fhe departments of administrafive interna! affairs at administrative units of fhe Republic of Slovenia. Notices of arrivals and departures, changas of permanent residence, departures abroad for a period of more than three months, return from abroad, acquisition and loss of citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia, corrections entered in fhe register, etc., are made available weekly by the Ministry of the lnterior to the Statistical Otfice of the Republic of Slovenia and are used for updating fhe Central Populafion Regisfer (CPR). The CPR is a collecfion of local population registers and a computer-based archive of Slovene citizens permanently residing in the Republic of Slovenia. The populafion data refer to the citizens of Slovenia as of 30 June 1999.
Summary		Statistični urad Republike Slovenije zbira podatke o državljanih Republike Slovenije, ki imajo prijavljeno stalno prebivališče na območju Slovenije, in o vseh dogodkih in spremembah, ki vplivajo na število te skupine prebivalstva (rojstva, smrti, prijave, odjave in spremembe stalnega prebivališča, pridobitve in odpusti iz državijanstva, popravki registrov stalnega prebivalstva ipd.). Podatke o vitalnih dogodkih (rojstva, smrti) na osnovi vpisov in zaznamb v matične knjige dnevno posredujejo na statističnih obrazcih oddelki za upravne notranje zadeve upravnih enot Republike Slovenije. Podatke o prijavah, odjavah, spremembah stalnega prebivališča, prijavah odhodov v tujino za več kot tri mesece, prijavah vrnitev iz tujine, pridobitvah državljanstva in odpustih iz državijanstva Republike Slovenije, popravkih v registru in podobno tedensko posreduje Ministrstvo za notranje zadeve na elektronskih medijih. S temi podatki Statistični urad Republike Slovenije (SURS) ažurira podatke Centralnega registra prebivalstva (CRP). Ta je zbir lokalnih registrov stalnega prebivalstva in računalniško vodena evidenca o prebivalcih Republike Slovenije s stalnim prebivališčem v Sloveniji. Podatki o prebivalcih predstavfjajo državfjane Slovenije na dan 30. junija 1999.
