Abstract     Rapid tests could be quite helpfull in analytical chemistry. On the field of water analysis we use them for preliminary testing, for daily screening analysis etc. They are suitable for drinking water, bath water and for waste water analysis. Rapid tests applications to water analysis are simple, rapid and economical. They are mostly based on colorimetric and photometric measurements. Colorimetric tests are test strips based on comparing the colour of the using strip with the enclosed colour scale and test kits based on comparing the colour produced in the sample after adding the reagents with the enclosed colour standards. Photometric test kits are based on photometric measurements usually on special photometer.
