Abstract     Injuries to the chest and chest organs occurring in the mountains are caused by falls from height, compression or direct blows. Impaired breathing mechanics, lung injuries and hemorrhage are the most common problems experienced. Pneumothorax, hemothorax and pericardial tamponade are life-threatening conditions which can be successfully managed by drainage of the thorax or pericardium. The report discusses the most common injuries occurring in the mountains, emergency care, clinical signs and measures that can be undertaken at the scene. Special attention is devoted to chest tube drainage.
Summary     Poškodbe prsnega koša in prsnih organov v gorah nastanejo zaradi padcev z višine, stisnjenja ali direktnih udarcev. Največkrat ogrožajo poškodovanca porušena mehanika dihanja, poškodbe pljuč in krvavitve. Pnevmotoraks, hematotoraks in tamponada osrčnika neposredno ogrožajo življenje.
