Abstract		Environmental noise is cosidered one of the significant factors to affect quality life. The aim of the study was to determine the existing noise pollution of the environment in the Celje region by means of allday measurements. Our attention was particulary focused on areas with buildings sensitive to the effect of noise e.g. residential buildings, school and hospital buildings etc. We came to the conclusion that in target locations it is the road traffic that is regarded as the major source of noise pollution. The results of the study can also be used by the competent authorities as the basis for urban planning of the area and thus connected levels of noise still acceptable.
