Abstract		The ailanthus (Ailanthus altissima) is one of the rare tree genera to be introduced into Slovenia that is also agressive enough to spread slightly. It is indigenous to China and the Moluccas, and was first brought to Europe by the French Jesuit d Incarville in 1751, and to the Americas by the end of the eighteenth century.
