Abstract		Background: Our intention was to present our experiences with the operative treatment of the acromioclavicular joint injuries type Tossy 111 of the last two years. In 1999 and 2000 we operated 22 patients. In our report, we emphasized our complications and gave suggestions how to reduce them. Methods: Retrospective analysis of 22 operatively treated patients in 1999 and 2000. Conclusions: We think that the operative treatment of acromioclavicular joint injury type Tossy III is justified if young and active patients are treaed, In order to obtain good results the operation must be performed as soon as possible (during the first week after the injury). The aim is to achieve exact reconstruction of AC joint. The internal fixation devices must be removed after 6 - 8 weeks before complete mobilisation.
