Abstract     Suprascapular nerve entrapment is a rare but an important cause of pain in the shoulder. Entrapment can occur where nerve passes through the incisura scapulae or through the spinoglenoid notch. Causes of entrapment are bone fractures, iatrogene injuries, chronic mechanical irritation and soft tissue tumors. Pain over the site of the entrapment, lack of power on abduction and/or external rotation and atrophy of supra and/or infraspinatus muscles prevail in clinical features. Site of entrapment can be identified by EMG. MRI is a method of choice to prove the existence of ganglion which compresses the nerve. Therapy depends on the etiology, operafive procedures give best results. A case of suprascapular nerve entrapment in spinoglenoid notch is reported.
