Abstract     Article deals with the role of nursing care (NC) in dealing with hospitalised patients suffering from chronic heart failure (CHF) during hospital treatment. The method of nursing care (MNC) is used in contemporary nursing care. In everyday treatment, traditional nursingl care is still intertwined with the use of MNC. Nurse (MN) is a vital member of medical team dealing with patients suffering from CHF. CHF is a disease which seriously affects the quality of patient's life. In majority of patients, heart failure is a disease in progress. Patients often return to hospital at different stages of the disease, mainly in cases of deterioration. The frequency of coming back depends on the quality of the entire treatment. NC of patient with CHF is adjusted to each patient. During hospitalisation it varies from the acute state of the disease, when the patient's daily activities, totally depend on the help of others, to the stage when the patient is being taught to be able to live on his own. The content of NC in CHF stresses the importance of observation of changes in patient's symptoms and his reaction to the medication in the case of introducing new medicines, such as lž blockers, angiotensin convening enzyme inhibitors. It is essential to measure accurately diuresis, blood pressure, heart rate, adjustment of the doses of diuretics, together with daily measurements of body weight and accurate daily intake of medicines (why, when, side effects). N regularly informs the patient about all previewed medicotechnical procedures, especially about those for which the agreement, signed by the patient, is necessary. N registers the data in to medical and nursing care documentation, forms which are a part of hospital documentation. Article presents the most frequent nursing care problems of patients with CHF during their hospitalization. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters)
Summary     Prispevek obravnava naloge zdravstvene nege (ZN) pri obravnavi bolnika s kroničnim srčnim popuščanjem (KSP) v času zdravljenja v bolnišnici.
