Abstract		Cancer in schoolchildren is rare and paediatricians in primary health centres rarely have contact with such patients. The article discusses the basics of cancer epidemiology in childhood, methods of treatment and their acute and long-term conse quences.
Summary		Rak je v otroškem obdobju redka bolezen, in pediatri, ki delujejo na primarni ravni, se z njo ne srečajo pogosto. V prispevku obravnavamo osnove epidemiologije otroškega raka, načine zdravljenja ter njegove akutne in pozne posledice.
