Abstract     The ecosystems of the Sava, Kolpa, and Krka rivers in Slovenia were assessed using a modified RCE inventory (Petersen 1992) with regard to land use in the vicinity of the river, type of riparian zone, river bed structure, presence of sediment, and presence of aquatic vegetation, fish, and detritus. As the results correlate with the results of national monitoring based on chemical and saprobiological analyses (correlation coefficient: 0.70), the approach could therefore be uselully applied for additional assessment of other rivers. Through this assessment, information on potential reasons for disturbances in the river ecosystem could be obtained.
Summary     S pomočjo prirejene t.i. RCE metode (Petersen 1992) smo ocenili ekosisteme rek Save, Kolpe in Krke, predvsem na osnovi uporabe zemljišča v bližini reke, razvitosti obrežnega pasu, strukture rečne struge in sedimenta ter prisotnost vodne vegetacije, rib in detrita.
