| Abstract | Methods and procedures for implementation of an atlas of breeding and wintering birds in the city Ljubljana are forseen. Due to higher efficiency, 220 km2 big study area, covering the city area and its surrounding, is divided into 71 census plots. In those plots frequent bird species will be censused quantitatively using line transect method, while will be less frequent bird species censused semiquantitatively. Birds along banks of river Sava and Ljubljana will be censused separately. Field work could be carried out by 12 coworkers in three years. Financial input for the project is estimated to 10.724.557 SIT. At the end significance of the atlas results for the city and it dwellers is presented. | |
