Abstract		Cardio-vascular diseases have been the main cause of death in the population. Patients with diabetes mellitus are especially threatened. It is therefore not surprising that diabetes mellitus has been considered an independent risk factor for the development of cardio-vascular diseases. Other risk factors are the same as in people not suffering from diabetes mellitus. They are, however, more common in patients with diabetes. Although we have been very efficient in discovering these risk factors, we have not been sufficiently effective in their removal and treatment.
