Abstract		The author presents children with severe mental and physical development handicap. In the frames of nursing care, one of life activities, i.e. movement and positioning in appropriate positions are described. In these children the needs deriving from restricted movement are very evident and influence all other life activities. The purpose of the present article is to present handling these children require to present and future health workers. Planned nursing interventions require professional knowledge, human approach and corresponding equipment. Stressed is the mode of following childs own movements which should not be overtaken but accepted in the frames of its own rhythm which is slower than ours. The author presents some of the necessary tools for these children in institutions and at home.
Summary		Avtorica najprej predstavi otroke s najtežjo motnjo v duševnem in telesnem razvoju. Skozi proces zdravstvene nege otrok teoretično izpostavi eno izmed življenskih aktivnosti - gibanje in nameščanje v ustrezne lege. Pri predstavljenih otrocih se potrebe, ki izhajajo iz omejenosti gibanja zelo izrazito pokažejo ter vplivajo na druge življenske aktivnosti. Namen prispevka je približati otroke ter predstaviti način rokovanja z njimi sedanjim in bodočim zdravstvenim delavcem. Načrtovane negovalne intervencije zahtevajo strokovno znanje, človeški pristop in ustrezne pripomočke. Poudarjen je način, kako sledimo gibanju otroka, ki ga ni dovoljeno prehitevati, ampak je potrebno biti pripravljen spremljati otrokov ritem, ki je počasnejši od našega. Avtorica predstavlja nekatere nujno potrebne pripomočke, ki spremljajo otroke skozi njihovo življenje, doma ali v ustanovi.
