Abstract     Streptococcus pneumoniae, Neisseria meningitidis and Haemophilus influenzae are the major causative agents of invasive bacterial infections in children and adults. They are among the most common causes of bacteremia, meningitis, pneumonia and, less commonly, of other clinical syndromes. The epidemiology of these infections demonstrates both geographicat and temporal variability. The clinical manifestations, epidemiology, serogroups/types and resistance of these bacteria isotated from sterile body fluids from patients in Slovenia during 1993-2000 are presented.
