Abstract		In traffic accidents the chest is injured through direct or indirect influence of force. Injuries can be classified into blunt or sharp, closed or opened. Any part of chest wall can be injured (muscles, bones), any chest organ (lungs, heart, big vessels, esophagus, trachea) or diaphragm with herniation of abdominal viscera into pleural cavity. In emergency treatment we fight with shock and respiratory decompensation. After emergency measures transport to emergency surgical unit is required.
