Abstract     Low-molecular-weight heparin preparations seem to be at least as effective and safe as unfractionated heparin but more convenient. Low-molecular-weight heparin preparations could be administered in the majority of patients based on weight-adjusted dosing. Weight-adjusted dosing could be misleading in patients with renal insufficiency or obesity. Neither of that was true in our patient who was administered weight-adjusted dose of low-molecular-weight heparin enoxaparin. In spite of that, a major bleeding in the abdominal wall at injection site occurred. Further studies are suggested to determine the safety of low-molecular-weight heparin enoxaparin and whether monitoring antifactor Xa levels is necessary in any other cases.
