Abstract		The purpose of this article is to describe the technique and importance of pleural decompression with needle thoracocentesis in prehospital setting.The main indication for this procedure is tension pneumothorax. This is a serious condition which may be rapidly fatal unless needle thoracocentesis is performed immediately. Author of this article wants to explain, how necessarily it is to include learning of this procedure in the educational program for Emergency Medical Technicians and nurses.
