Abstract		Pneumonia is lung inflammation due to infection with microorganisms. Most frequent cause are bacteria, less frequent are viruses, funghi and parasites. When infection and course of disease is serious, respiratory insufficiency develops and intubation and mechanical ventilation are indicated. We wish to present a patient with billateral pneumonia, who was intubated and mechanically ventilated, with special emphasis on nursing care.
