Abstract		US devices of high resolution allow good visualization of the small intestinal wall that is altered pathologically in coeliac disease. In three groups of children, one with utreated coeliac disease, one with a gluten-free diet; and the control group, the comparison of US changes with histologic results of small intestinal biopsy revealed a good correlation between US and histologic changes.In diagnosing coeliac disease the results of US investigation of the small intestine are an aid in the decision regarding biopsy, which is an invasive and unpleasant investigation.
Summary		Ultrasonografske (UZ) naprave z visoko ločljivostjo omogočajo dobro vizualizacijo stene tankega črevesa, ki je pri celiakiji bolezensko spremenjena. Pri treh različnih skupinah otrok, pri otrocih z nezdravljeno celiakijo (N=15), pri otrocih na brezglutenski dieti (N=10) ter pri kontrolni skupini otrok (N=10), je primerjava histoloških sprememb sluznice tankega črevesa in UZ sprememb črevesne stene pokazala, da UZ-spremembe dobro korelirajo s histološkimi spremembami. S pomočjo ugotovitev UZ preiskave tankega črevesa v diagnostičnem postopku za celiakijo se lažje odločimo za biopsijo sluznice tankega črevesa, ki je invazivna in za otroke neprijetna preiskava.
