Abstract     Reactive arthritis is the most common type of inflammatory polyarthritiso in young men. The disease most commonly follows an infection with wide spectrum of microbes including Chlamydia trachomatis. The NLA 8-21 genotype is a predisposing factor in 80 percent of patients with reactive arthritis. It can affect the musculosceletal system as well as other organ systems. Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs are the mainstem of treatment. If they are unsuccessful, sulfasalazine or other immunomodulatory drugs can be added. Treatement with doxycycline or its analogs sometimes shortens the course or aborts the onset of arthritis. Symptoms may persist for long periods and may, in some cases, cause long-term disability. In this paper two patients with reactive arthritis with different course and different outcome of the same diseas are presented.
