Abstract		The authors show the importance and role of the pre-hospital unit for emergency medical assistance which was established as early as in 1986 and was one of the first in the Republic of Slovenia. The paper shows in particular the data and parameters with a special emphasis on the increased number of certain interventions, especially in the area of road accidents.
