Abstract     Ivermectin is well appreciated due to small doses and high efficacy against endoand ectoparasites. Because of the actuality of this leading veterinary drug in terms of worldwide sales, numerous analytical methods for determination of its residues in body fluids, tissues and excreta, were published. In this article the developing and review of the respective methodology is extensively presented. Methods using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection which enabled very low detectable limits are predominating. On the basis of literature, international cooperation and our own contribution also in our laboratory HPLC method, using fluorescence detection for determination of ivermectin residues in blood plasma and food of animal origin, was introduced. With optimisation of the procedure very low limits of detection in matrices in order of only 0.1 ppb were achieved what was classified among the best in the literature. The method is suitable for scientific research as well as routine purposes in the sphere of pharmacokinetics and food hygiene.
Summary     Ivermektin odlikujejo nizki odmerki in visoka učinkovitost tako proti notranjim kot zunanjim zajedavcem. Zaradi aktualnosti tega v svetu najbolje prodajanega veterinarskega zdravila so bile objavljene številne analitske metode za ugotavljanje njegovih ostankov v telesnih tekočinah, tkivih in izločkih. V prispevku je obširno prikazan razvoj in pregled tovrstne metodologije. Prevladujejo metode z uporabo tekočinske kromatografije visoke ločljivosti (HPLC) s fluorescenčnim zaznavanjem, ki je omogočilo zelo nizke meje zaznavnosti. Na osnovi literature, mednarodnega sodelovanja in z lastnim prispevkom smo tudi v našem laboratoriju uvedli metodo HPLC s fluorescenčnim zaznavanjem ostankov ivermektina v krvni plazmi in v živilih živalskega izvora. Z optimizacijo postopka v proučevanih matriksih smo dosegli meje zaznavnosti v velikosti komaj 0,1 ppb, kar nas je uvrstilo med najboljše v tovrstni literaturi. Metoda je primerna tako za znanstvenoraziskovalno kot operativno delo na področjih farmakokinetike in higiene živil.
