Abstract | The use of herbal remedies (medicines) is growing because customers trust in their safety and efficacy. The producers have to secure adequate quality of these remedies that can be achieved with assuring quality of starting materials (herbal drugs, extracts etc) as well as quality of final products. Quality requirementsget stricter in time. Recently the growing trends of modern analysis methods (HPLC, GC) have been noticed. These analyses enable us to more accunttely assess contents of the active subsGtnce, group of substances or marker compound. The use of these new methods requires well-defined standard substances, which increases the costs of these analyses. | |
