Abstract     Students of medicine lifestyle superficial knowledge has brought up to a cross-section research, purpose of which is to contribute to the students health problems knowledge, and to test out the socio-medical instruments to assess their relation to health and lifestyle. The research objectives are: to estimate the students relation to health, to find out the students alimentary and other habits, to define the health risk factors frequency, to estimate the connection among the studied relations to health variables, lifestyle and state of health, and to find out the healthy customs amount variability share which can be elucidated by the observed population simultaneous biological, socio-economic, study and vocational characteristics impact. On the data basis, collected by a written anonymous inquiry and documentation data on the investigated students systematic medical examination, the author was checking up 58 hypotheses. In the academic year 1996/97 she investigated 564 1st, 3rd and 5th year students of the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana. 95% of the investigated responded. The relation to health and their lifestyle were estimated on the variables frequency basis which reflected the relation to health, alimentary and other habits, and by the summary indicators "relation to health amount" and "healthy customsamount". By a multi-variant method she checked up the simultaneous sex impact, study course, year of study, family material standard, and desires as to the professional work type per healthy customs amount. Among numerous results some more important are set forth. The most important values of students are family, health and study. 68% of students are ready to change their lifestyle due to the professional life environment model. The average relation to health amount shows a good students relation to health. The worst alimentary habit is absence of breakfast (in 49.5% of students). (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters).
