Abstract     The thesis has with retrospective descriptive epidemiological method researched influence of immunization on the incidence of tick-borne meningoencephalitis in the region of Maribor in period 1987-91. In that time period had tick borne encephalitis been a relatively rare disease with an average morbidity of 4,18 per 100 000 inhabitants per year and with a trend of decreasing. The highest morbidity was still registered in the community of Slovenska Bistrica, where it was 11,3 per 100 000 inhabitants per year, although decreasing. The incidence of tick-borne encephalitis in the studied period was explicitly seasonal with a peak in July and a plateau from September to October. In the age structure of the diseased small shift towards higher age groups could be registered. The ratio between the sexes changed in favour of woman. The proportion of forestry and agriculture workers in the total number of persons fallen ill with tick-borne encephalitis had decreased down to 8,8 %. In 1991 was active immunized only 0,5% of entire population in the region of Maribor.
