Abstract		The purpose of the study was to establish narcotic impact of nitrogen on psychical abilities of the divers who respire the air at increased pressure. Nine students of the Faculty of Sport participated in the experiment which was carried out at the Institute of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine under thegu idance of prof. I. Mekjević. A computing test that encompases 50 calculations and is limited in time, was used to assess psychical abilities. The test was performed in a lecture room in the hyperbaric chamber at normal pressure, in hyperbaric chamber at increased pressure, and at the end of the experiment, in the lecture room again. The results have shown that due to narcotic impact of nitrogen, psychical capacities were disturbed with the majority of examinees.
Summary		Namen naloge je bil ugotoviti narkotični vpliv dušika na psihične sposobnosti potapljačev, ki dihajo zrak pri povečanem tlaku. V eksperimentu je sodelovalo devet študentov Fakultete za šport, usmerjevalcev avtonomnega potapljanja. Eksperiment smo izpeljali na Fiziološkem inštitutu Medicinske fakultete pod vodstvom prof. I. Mekjevića. Za oceno psihičnih sposobnosti smo uporabili računski test, ki vsebuje 50 računov in je časovno omejen. Test so preiskovanci opravljali v učilnici, v hiperbarični komori pri normalnem tlaku in v hiperbarični komori pod povečanim tlakom (5 barov) ter na koncu eksperimenta ponovno v učilnici. Rezultati so pokazali, da je imela večina udeležencev preizkusa zaradi narkotičnega vpliva dušika motene psihične sposobnosti.
