Abstract		A research study is presented which was carried out in November 1999 among the members of the Endocrinological section of nurses and medical tehnicians of Slovenia. It reflects the situation in the field of health education of diabetics, its methods and consistency, premises provided for it and the position of the educators in diabetical centres and dispensaries for diabetes in Slovenia. The comparison is made between this research and a similar one from 1996. The results of the research show that health education is still not a continued process. It is carried out in unsuitable premises, by not sufficiently trained personnel who beside health education perform also other professional work. Almost 10 % of health educators find their work unsatisfying.
Summary		Predstavljena je raziskava, opravljena novembra 1999 na področju celotne Slovenije med članicami Endokrinološke sekcije medicinskih sester in zdravstvenih tehnikov. Prikazuje stanje v dispanzerjih za diabetike in ambulantah za sladkorno bolezen po Sloveniji glede na izobrazbeno strukturo vzgojiteljev, zdravstveno vzgojo sladkornih bolnikov, način in stalnost vzgoje, prostor, namenjen za zdravstveno vzgojo, ter položaj vzgojiteljev. Narejena je primerjava s podobno raziskavo iz leta 1996. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da zdravstvena vzgoja še ni kontinuiran proces, izvaja se v neprimernih prostorih in tudi izobrazba kadrov je neprimerna. Opazna je preobremenjenost zdravstvenih vzgojiteljev, ki poleg zdravstvene vzgoje opravljajo še druga strokovna dela. Skoraj 10% izvajalcev zdravstvene vzgoje ne opravlja z veseljem.
