Abstract     Enalapril contains alanylproline dipeptide and can be split into two or more peaks when separated by reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Peak shape and retention are strongly pH and temperature dependent. Separation of rotamers was reached by using pH 7.0 mobile phase containing 17% acetonitrile and Spherisorb Octyl column at 6stopinj C. The structure of isolated isomers was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy. Isolated rotamer was termostated at 5 degrees C, 10 degrees C, 15 degrees C and 20 degrees C. The reisomerisation as a function of time was monitored by HPLC system at 6 degrees C. Delta G* was calculated from Eyring's equations.
