Abstract     During and after the operational period of the Uranium mine at Žirovski vrh the environmental monitoring programme was carried out by measuring activities of some important radionuclides in various environmental samples. Measurements of radioactivity in the water samples from Todražčica stream and Brebovščica river showed that in the last years of a closure period the levels of 238U and 226Ra below inflows from mine and disposal sites were mostly in decreasing comparing to results obtained in the operational period. Concentrations of 210Pb in water sample are a little bit higher, but not exceed 10% of permitted limit value for drinking water.
