Abstract     The development of cognitive paradigm has provided psychology as well as other disciplines interested in the study of the human mind with a powerful approach that enabled not only new advancements in their respective fields, but also fruitful cooperation within cognitive neuroscience. The core explanatory strategy of cognitive neuroscience seems to be decompositional analysis with cognitive psychology carrying out functional analysis, neuroscience dealing with structural analysis, and computational science providing the bridge between them. The paper aims to present the basic tenets behind cognitive psychology and its place within cognitive neuroscience.
