Abstract     Reaction-time experiments have been present in psychological research since the beginning of psychology as a science. The purpose of this paper is to present the use of reaction-time experiments from all four approaches included in the cognitive neuroscience pyramid, as well as in different fields of research in psychology. Therefore exemplar studies of different cognitive functions are presented for the cognitive psychological, the computational, the neuroscience and the neuropsychological approach. Reaction-time experiments seem to be useful in each of them, but the most problematic seems to be the computational approach.
