Abstract		In the article the consecutive diagnostic procedures used for the examination of thyroid gland are described. In clinical picture, the sign and symptoms important for thyroid illness are stressed. Diagnostic procedures are divided in two groups:procedures related to morphology description and procedures related to thyroid function. Together with very procedure their basic characteristics and their usefulness are mentioned.
