Abstract | The course of atherosclerotic disease is accelerated in patients with diabetes mellitus and the outcome of treatment is worse than in non-diabetics. The first step in diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease in patients with diabetes mellitus is taking a careful history and performing a thorough clinical examination. The patient's perception of disability is an important factor in the diagnostic process. Peripheral arterial disease is confirmed and graded by objective tests, among which the most important is doppler ankle pressure measurement.
Summary | Pri bolnikih s sladkorno boleznijo so zapleti ateroskleroze pogostejši, izhod zdravljenja pa slabši.
