Abstract		For centuries Pharmacopoeias are defining standards for medicines. In Slovenia we have a long tradition of standardisation in the pharmaceutical field. During the last decade we have put our efforts in harmonisation of standards with European Union. As a result European Pharmacopoeia is legal in our country. Besides there is a Formularium Slovenicum with two annexes. Essential parts in the second Annex are Standard terms for Pharmaceutical forms, Routes of administration and Containers and chapter for Herbal preparations. A short review of European Pharmacopoeia Commission and Formularium Slovenicum Commission activates, actual procedures, content of Formularium Slovenicum with both Annexes are presented with a view to their influence in the future. Above mentioned activities led to the harmonisation of Slovenian standards with European Union in the pharmaceutical field. Formularium Slovenicum with two annexes puts in force the Slovenian terminology in this field, that is necessary for use in pharmaceutical and medical profession.
