Abstract     The article describes our current routine practice for epidural analgesia during labour - intermittent injections technique. We used local anaesthetics: 0.125 % bupivacaine or 0.25% bupivacaine or 0.2% ropivacaine in combination with fentanyl 5 micro g/ml. We assessed the quality of analgesia, the satosfaction of parturients with epidural analgesia, the effectiveness of a particular analgesic mixture, the association between the use of regional analgesia (3 various combinations of local anaesthetics and fentanyl), the mode of delivery and the effect on the fetus of the newborn. Whether our regional analgesia causes operative and instrumental delivery is management for parturients in choosing the regional analgesia, which is the most effective form of pain relief.
