Abstract		This review article highlights the salient clinical features of the hereditary forms of colon cancer - the polyposis and non-polyposis syndromes - and their genetic basis. Such information not only provides insight into the molecular pathogenesis of colon cancer, but may also constitute a basis for genetic testing, detection, surveillance, and therapy of colon cancer.
Summary		V preglednem članku bomo predstavili klinični vidik dednih oblik karcinoma debelega črevesa - polipozni in nepolipozni sindrom - in njihovo gensko osnovo. Takšna informacija nam bo v pomoč ne samo za spoznanje molekularne patogeneze kolorektalnih karcinomov, temveč nam bo lahko temelj za uporabo genskih testov, odkrivanje, nadzor in zdravljenje karcinomov širokega črevesa.
