Abstract     Aims: To evaluate the risk of preterm birth in different grades of uterine anomalies-AFS 5 and 6- before and after hysteroscopic resection. Methods: Analysis of perinatal data on 176 women after hysteroscopic resection included in the National Perinatal Data Base of Slovenia (NPIS). They were divided in two groups. Group A: 75 women (43%) after hysteroscopic surgery for AFS 6 septum. Group B: 101 women (57%) after hysteroscopic surgery for AFS5 septa. The data on preterm birth before and after the resection of uterine septum were analyzed and compared. Results: Preterm birth rate in the group A was 47.6% before and 4.0% after the operation P<0.000. Preterm birth rate in the group B was 40 before and 11.8% after the operation P<0.000. In both groups there was a significant decrease of the need for intensive care unit. Perinatal data in 176 deliveries after surgery did not significantly differ to the data in 354 normal controls.
