Abstract		This case concerns a patient with a recently discovered Graves' disease. The patient was treated with thiamazole. One month after starting the therapy, side effects showed up. At first there was a hypersensitivity reaction (pruritus and rash). A week later toxicity (leukopenia with granulocytopenia) of bone marrow developed. Ten days after the discontinuation of thiamazole the leukocyte (granulocyte) count was nearly normal. To prevent another episode of hyperthyroidism we prescribed propylthiouracil. We have not yet found any side effects.
