Abstract     Headache is a common neurological symptom in childhood and adolescence. The aim of our retrospective study was to determine the frequency of additional diagnostic evaluation of children and adolescents with a history of headache and to establish the final outcome. We analysed the medical documentation of 228 children sent to the Outpatient Clinic of the Child Neurology Department at the University Children's Hospital Ljubljana in 1999. Additional diagnostic evaluation was requested and performed in 57% of all cases. Tension-type headache was the final diagnosis in half of the cases and migraine in a quarter. None of the patient had a serious illnesses as the cause of the headache in our series.
Summary     Glavobol je pri otrocih in mladostnikih pogost nevrološki simptom. V retrospektivni študiji smo želeli ugotoviti, kako pogosto smo se pri otrocih in mladostnikih na osnovi anamneze in pregleda odločali za dodatne preiskave in kakšne so bile končne dignoze. Pregledali smo medicinsko dokumentacijo 228 otrok, ki so bili napoteni v nevrološko ambulanto Pediatrične klinike v Ljubljani v letu 1999.
