Abstract     We have been striving to contribute, with the regular and qualitative physical education process as well as with the selected aims, contents and methods of work, to a harmonious development and health of children and young people. At the same time we encourage them to become responsible for their health in the broadest sense, to offer young people a possibility of self confirmation, social integration and qualitative spending of their leisure time in a modern society full of traps. In the article are presented the aims connected with health which is now included in the new physical education curricula for primary schools, we present sport' as an optional subject >Sport< in grammar schools, and the secondary technical and vocational schools. We promote a healthy way of life through physical education, we are raising awareness of each individual's responsibility for health, above all in terms of carefully selecting practical contents and methods of their mediation to young people and theoretical contents conveyed by PE teacher during physical exercise. chool children are exposed to physical and psychological exertions at school caused by long sedentary courses and organisation of schoolwork. Certain demonstrated approaches can contribute to a better atmosphere qualitative physical education and several free interest sports activities, can contribute to the relaxation of children and young people. Special attention has been paid to the contents of health education liaising different subjects, where a teacher tries to deal with certain problems from dif-ferent angles. Teachers can find instructions on how to release children from physical education classes and special didactic recommendations are included in all curricula.
Summary     Z rednim in kakovostnim športnovzgojnim procesom si prizadevamo, da z izbranimi cilji, vsebinami, metodami ter oblikami dela prispevamo k skladnemu razvoju in zdravju otrok ter mladine. Hkrati jih navajamo na odgovornost do zdravja v najširšem pomenu, saj je treba v družbi, ki nastavlja mnoge pasti, dati mladim priložnost za samopotrjevanje, socialno integracijo in kakovostno preživljanje prostega časa. V članku predstavljamo cilje, povezane z zdravjem, ki so vključeni v nove učne načrte športne vzgoje za osnovno šolo, izbirni predmet šport, gimnazije, srednjetehniško in poklicno izobraževanje. Pri športni vzgoji spodbujamo zdrav način življenja in zavest odgovornosti za lastno zdravje predvsem z izbiro ustreznih praktičnih vsebin in načinom njihovega posredovanja ter teoretičnimi vsebinami, ki jih učitelj posreduje ob vadbi. Učenci so v šoli izpostavljeni telesnim in duševnim naporom, ki jih povzročata večurno sedenje ter organizacija šolskega dela. Z nekaterimi predstavljenimi prijemi lahko pripomoremo k boljšemu počutju, razbremenilno pa delujejo tudi kakovostna športna vzgoja in številne športne interesne dejavnosti. Posebna pozornost je namenjena vsebinam zdravstvene vzgoje pri medpredmetnih povezavah, kjer učitelj poskuša določeno vsebino ali problem obravnavati z različnih vidikov. V specialnodidaktičnih priporočilih, ki jih vsebujejo vsi učni načrti, pa dobijo učitelji tudi navodila o opravičevanju od pouka športne vzgoje.
